Find the words
Find the words is a mental health campaign focusing on teaching young children mental health terms early on so they can identify and accommodate mental health problems as they age.
mood board
For Find The Words I wanted to have a sleek yet welcoming feeling that makes children recognize the medical intentions of it while still feeling welcomed into a place to learn and feel openly. I wanted this project to be graphic heavy and rely on statistics and simple visuals to carry the message. The colors are also made to have that same inviting feeling, relaying mainly on warm yellows and oranges contrasted by the formality of the darker blues to establish the serious nature of the project.
Logo
For the logo I wanted to make a simple shape that shows how just a little extra conversational skill makes a person whole, so the little slot and missing piece closing in encapsulates that idea. The shape made it easy for making variations.
Research
For this project, I had to conduct four interviews and a poll that got 42 responses, as well as a bevvy of research surrounding child psychology and communication skills.
Mascots
I knew for a project aimed at children that mascots were a must. In making Theenk and Pheel, I wanted them to not be any recognizable animal or person, but more so just funny looking creatures who exist in their own world!
Posters
The posters were the most important part since these were the main deliverables that’d be displayed in school nurse and pediatrician offices. I wanted the body type to be simple and concise so the kids reading them can grasp the concept, but still informative enough that nothing gets left behind.
Practice Cards & Board game
The best way for young minds to learn is repetition and practice, so making a set of practice flash cards that matches the campaign is a logical addition
