Tudinal is a mock miracle pill that helps people with bad attitudes see life in a better way for the benefit of everyone else around them. This campaign was built as a comedic take on medicine commercial.

Tudinal

mood board

I knew going into it, I had to push what makes medicine commercials what they are to a comedic degree: Profound sadness over a black and white video, a transition to color and smiling faces, and sleek logos. A loot of bright, breathy colors and round, inviting shapes that make the viewer know that the people behind Tudinal, the Care Corporation, have the best in mind for them when dealing with their unwanted attitudes.

The colors for both logos needed to be selected to make the viewer feel calm and inspire trust. For Tudinal, a warm gold and blue gives an inviting feel that brings peace to the mind of it’s users to help them relax and recover from their bad attitude.

For Care Corporation I leaned cooler and clinical, a color pallet befitting a theoretical medical production lab that makes an attitude suppressant.

logos

For the final logos I wanted to keep the simple and clean look often seen in the medicine industry with simple meanings behind it. Tudinal is made to be a god send and as such a protective halo coming printed on every box showcases that safety.

For Care Corporation I wanted to to be a but liminal, what a doppelganger would design as a part of their fake identity. The logo was made to represent the medical cross while showing a group of people working together.

Packaging

The packaging for Tudinal had to be calm and invoke the feeling that being a better person gives. The off white creme paired with the inviting blue waves makes the patient it’s prescribed to feel peace and in good hands.

Researching how to write up a medicine’s product information was a key aspect in this design project. It may be a little more colorful than what’s considered “average” and “acceptable by FDA guidelines” but for a nonexistent medication it works perfectly.

Video ad

Medicine commercials are an American staple in television ads. For Tudinal, I wanted the ad to feel classic and in line for what a real medication would be advertised with, but a little pushed further into the comedic elements of the product.

Advertisements

Medicine advertisements are notable for being very clean and calming so keeping this in mind with making ads for Tudinal, a good contrast is provided by snarky comments showcasing the attitude the pill suppresses.

To really hone in on who Tudinal is for, a series of ads based on real world inconveniences that make people upset while providing them with accurate information sells Tudinal to the consumer.
